This weekend I am in Austin celebrating a bride to be. The fellow women on this trip have been nothing but spectacular and fun and I think it is something we all needed in these times. Finding a reason or an occasion to celebrate in moments of disparity is an ability of humanity to pull through with one another when life gets indescribable. I am not down playing the global impact of this illness related hot mess, however we need to hold on to the hope that is our current every moment of our human experience: our lives! The human spirit endures with the celebration of life in all of it's stages and even seasonal changes (think birthdays, Halloween parties, Easter, etc.). As I discussed with one of the ladies this morning, it's such a thing in our professional and success driven lives that time is always of course allowed to mourn a loss, however not as permitted to engage and celebrate a positive life event change. We can decide when a current state of life is our opportunity to be grateful. So it's really up to us to push back against all of this negativity, all the politics, the worry, the deceit, and shame and misunderstanding and instead take every avenue to pass on love, and hope and communal efforts that our lives are not done or over. We have a say and with every action we contribute to making the world better instead of this continuation of the unprecedented.

I think there is a way for personal creativity to contribute to a personal, communal and global change, if we let it. Finding and making the opportunities for Art in neighborhoods and communities would not only open the community up to a realm of curiousity within themselves but let them freely express thoughts that the individuals within may not have the avenue to release in any other form.
